Where a cursive name works
A cursive name is ordinary Unicode text, so it goes anywhere a display name, bio or message accepts text. It does not go in a username: Instagram, TikTok, X and Discord all restrict handles to plain letters, numbers and a couple of punctuation marks, and will reject the cursive characters or strip them. Display names on all four accept it, as do captions, comments and statuses.
The one place to be careful is anything searched by name. Search matches characters, not appearance, so ๐๐๐๐ถ will not come up for someone typing Anna. Keep your searchable name plain and use the cursive version as the decorative line.
Picking a style for a name
- Bold cursive when the name is small โ display names, comment headers, anything next to an avatar.
- Light script when there is room โ a sign-off line at the end of a bio or an email.
- Decorated styles (fancy, hearts, vintage) for announcement posts and profile headers, where the ornaments have space and will not be cut off.

Can I use my cursive name as my Instagram or TikTok username?
No โ usernames on both platforms accept only plain letters, numbers, underscores and periods. Put the cursive version in your display name (the line shown above the bio) instead; both platforms accept Unicode there.
Which style is best for a name?
Bold cursive for a display name or anywhere the text is small, because its alphabet is complete and the strokes stay legible. Light script for a signature line under a longer bio, where it has room to breathe.
Why does one letter in my name look different from the rest?
Light script borrows eleven letters (โฌ โฐ โฑ โ โ โ โณ โ โฏ โ โด) from an older Unicode block, and your device draws them from a different table. Names starting with B, E, F, H, I, L, M or R are the ones affected. Bold cursive has no borrowed letters.
Is this a signature generator?
Not in the drawn sense. It produces a text version of your name in cursive letters that you can paste as a sign-off in an email, a comment or a bio. It does not draw a handwritten signature image.
My name is not in the list โ can I still convert it?
Yes. The list is only a shortcut for common names; the generator at the top converts anything you type, including names with accents, spaces and hyphens. Accented letters pass through unchanged because Unicode has no cursive versions of them.
