Link protection & history

Links, mentions and hashtags are protected by default. History stays in this tab, up to thirty versions. Select a part of the editor or tap a word, then apply.

Numbers and operators — insert at the selection

Unmapped Latin letters in the editor: none. Capitals remain ordinary.

The base stays on the baseline

x² + y² = z²
Select each exponent 2 and apply superscript. The x, y, z and operators can remain ordinary text.

Select only the exponent in x2, then apply. For an ordinal, select st in 1st. For a footnote marker, select the trailing number rather than raising the sentence. Sample buttons load each task and select its suffix for you. The operator buttons insert a character at the current selection, replacing the selected text if there is any.

Numbers are complete; letters are a mixture

lowercase a–z except qᵃᵇᶜ … ˣʸᶻ

The letter row uses modifier and phonetic letters from several blocks, not a complete superscript Latin alphabet. Capitals and q remain ordinary here. The converter accepts the ordinary hyphen-minus (-) for its raised minus; a mathematical minus (−) already in your input is kept intact.

Plain text powers are not equation typesetting

Superscript characters can travel through a plain-text message, but this tool does not lay out fractions, roots, matrices or stacked equations. For a formal document, use that editor’s equation controls. Copied ² is a different character from 2 with a superscript formatting setting.

Ordinal suffixes and footnote markers are just characters here; they do not create automatic numbering or clickable references. For lowered chemical numbers, use the subscript editor. For a whole raised nickname, compare the coverage in the small-text tool.

Frequently asked questions

Why is q or an uppercase letter unchanged?

This tool deliberately uses a limited lowercase table. It preserves unsupported letters instead of substituting an unrelated character or silently changing capitalisation.

Does the superscript copy work everywhere?

It copies Unicode characters, but apps can reject them or render them differently. Test the actual destination field. Use ordinary notation such as x^2 if a recipient cannot read the result.
