Text to QR code
Encode a link or message. Check it, export it, then test a scan.
Your text stays in this browser. No sign-up.
Code size, scan protection & encoded text
A static code carries the text shown below. Links go directly to that address; this tool adds no tracking redirect. Small capitals cannot restore original case.
Coverage & counts

A code that contains your text, not a redirect service
Use a complete https:// link when you want a phone camera to offer an Open link action. A plain sentence stays a sentence; what the scanner does with it depends on the scanning app. The generator preserves spaces, accents, emoji and line breaks. The content preview shows exactly what goes into the code.
A code cannot make a destination safe. Review the address before printing, then scan the exported file and open it yourself. Sensitive text remains recoverable by anyone who can scan the code, even though generation happens locally.
Give the camera a clean edge
Every export includes a white quiet zone four modules wide. Keep that margin visible: placing the black code directly against a busy background can make detection harder. PNG uses whole pixels for every module. The actual export size may be slightly smaller than the selected target to avoid blurry fractional squares.
Use SVG for print and resizing; use PNG for messages and slides. Keep the squares black and the background white, without filters, stretched proportions or a logo over the centre. Strong error correction adds redundancy but also makes the code denser. It does not guarantee that a damaged or poorly printed code will scan.
The input is limited to 2,000 UTF-8 bytes, not 2,000 letters. An emoji or Chinese character can use more bytes than an ordinary Latin letter. Strong correction can reach QR capacity sooner. When the content is too large, this tool stops generation instead of exporting a code for a shortened link.
Fancy letters can be encoded, but keep links ordinary
A QR can contain Unicode styled text, including mathematical letters. The scanner must still have a font that can show those characters. Styling a web address changes its characters and can break the destination. Encode the original address, or explicitly choose Restore fancy letters when your input needs to return to ordinary text.
For a caption visible beside the code, make a 3D title image or cursive PNG. To extract a link from a screenshot of printed text, use local image-to-text OCR, then check every character before making a code.
Frequently asked questions
Does my QR expire?
The static code itself has no expiry. A linked website may change, close or require access. The encoded content cannot be edited after export: make a new code to change it.
Can I make or scan codes offline?
After this page and its generation code have loaded, creating a code requires no server request. Scanning a link may require an internet connection to open the destination. This page generates codes; it does not scan an uploaded QR image.
Does this upload my link or record scans?
The payload is encoded in your browser. This site does not upload it or operate a scan-tracking redirect. Your destination site or scanning app may have its own logging.
